(San Francisco, CA)  After sweeping the weekend and a monumental upset, Marta Levinska and Mary Shroll both received Pac-12 weekly honors, the first time Sun Devil Volleyball has had an offensive and defensive player of the week in the same week.

Senior opposite hitter Levinska is the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season. It is the fifth conference weekly award in her career, the most any Sun Devil has had in a career. It is also the most offensive player of the week nods a Sun Devil has had. For graduate libero Shroll, this is her first conference weekly award after being the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week. For the complete list of winners, head to the Pac-12’s website.

It was an incredible weekend for Arizona State. The team swept both Cal and No. 3 Stanford, keeping ASU undefeated at home this season. The win over the Cardinal was the Sun Devils’ first sweep over them since 1993 (second ever) and handed Stanford its first conference loss. The two sweeps this weekend got ASU to 15 sweeps on the year, which is tied with 2013 for the highest number of three-set wins in a single season. The squad got win 21, which is the most wins this century at Arizona State and is the sixth-highest win total in program history.

Levinska continued her offensive prowess, notching double figures in both wins. She led all players in kills in both matches and moved up to ninth in the ASU record book for career kills in the process. She has reached double figures in all but two matches this season, including the last nine in a row. With a team-high 12 digs against Stanford, she got her fourth double-double of the year.

Shroll held down the defense all weekend, reaching double figures in both matches and leading the team. She has had double-digit digs in 14 of the last 15 matches. With a team-high 12 digs, Shroll and the defense held Stanford to a .194 clip, its lowest hitting percentage of the season and first time this year held under .200.

Arizona State is on the road next weekend, traveling to Los Angeles to take on UCLA on Friday and USC on Sunday.
