(New Orleans, LA) For the second time in his career, Turner Washington has earned West Region Male Field Athlete of the Year honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Washington won his fifth NCAA title this spring after winning the discus on the final throw. He also took silver in the shot put at the NCAA Championships, and took silver in both events at the Pac-12 Championships. Washington previously collected the honor in 2021, the same year he was a finalist for The Bowerman. Washington caps off his collegiate career as a five-time champion, nine-time All-American, and two-time Pac-12 medalist. Former Sun Devil and current Oregon Duck Jorinde van Klinken won the women’s side of the award.
