(Tempe, AZ) Sun Devil Water Polo freshman Juliette Dhalluin has been named a third-team All-American, the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) announced on Thursday.
Dhalluin was the lone Sun Devil to earn All-American honors and one of 70 student-athletes on the list. It marks the third straight year a freshman has obtained All-American status with Vanda Baksa and Luca Petrovary earning the honors in 2022 and 2021. The selections are based on nominations and are voted on by the head coaches of each varsity program.
Continuing an impressive year in Tempe, Dhalluin adds to her accolades as a Sun Devil, after landing on the All-MPSF second team and the MPSF All-Newcomer team in the toughest conference in Women’s Water Polo earlier this season.
She led all freshmen with 70 goals, which ranked third-best in the conference, only one shy of conference leaders and the most among all freshmen – the next closest was MPSF newcomer of the year Jenna Flynn with 59 goals. Her 70 goals in a single season rank as 6th most in program history, and she also had 38 assists, which was fourth-best in the MPSF, while her total points tally ranked in a tie for second in the conference with 108 with Stanford’s Ryann Neushul, one of three athletes to surpass the 100 points mark.
Dhalluin was a force in the water and was unstoppable to keep out of the net by recording a goal in all 24 games this season, which includes 19 multi-goal games with 14 hat tricks. She led the MPSF conference averaging 2.92 goals a game and made plays defensively with 48 steals in 24 games, which also led the conference by averaging 2 steals a contest. The freshman managed to go a perfect 14-for-14 on sprints and ranked second in the MPSF with 4.5 points a game. In a game against Marist, she recorded a 12 points performance (6G–6A) ranking as the second most points in a single game in program history.
In the postseason, she notched two hat tricks in three games and scored eight goals in three contests, earning MPSF-All-Tournament team, and collecting three MPSF Newcomer of the week awards.
