In his three seasons in Salt Lake City, Utah, the Utes jumped from 10th-place to fourth in the Pac-12 and a NCAA Sweet 16 berth.

Lawler was also the president and CEO of Club V Sports from 2017-2019 in Salt Lake City where he oversaw all business operations, worked with vendors and maintained the daily operations of the club.
