Traivar Jackson and Cesar Saenz earn All-ACCAC and All-Region selections

(Tucson, AZ)  Pima Community College men’s basketball players Traivar Jackson and Cesar Saenz (Sabino HS) earned recognition from the ACCAC Conference and NJCAA Region I for their contributions during the 2022-23 regular season.

Jackson, a sophomore forward, was named first team All-ACCAC and first team All-Region I, Division II for the second straight season. He played and started in all 30 games as he averaged 17.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.6 blocks per game. Jackson shot 59 percent from the field and 34.5 percent from three-point range. He scored a season-high of 33 points in the final regular season game at Eastern Arizona College on Feb. 28.

Saenz, a sophomore guard, was selected second team All-ACCAC (second straight season) and first team All-Region I, Division II. He earned All-ACCAC and All-Region honors last year with Phoenix College. Saenz played and started in all 30 games as he went on to average 16.5 points, 5.8 assists (second in ACCAC), 5.6 rebounds and 2.5 steals (led ACCAC) per game. Saenz shot 47.7 percent from the field, 34 percent from three-point range and 75.8 percent from the free throw line. He scored a season-high 28 points on Nov. 22 vs. Eastern Arizona College.

The No. 1 seeded Aztecs will host No. 4 Phoenix College on Tuesday in the NJCAA Region I, Division II Semifinal game at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
