(Mesa, AZ) In their third home match of the week, the beach volleyball squad at Park Gilbert defeated the Crusaders of William Carey University 3-2 early on Thursday morning.
The Buccaneer 2’s (Jasmine Urban/Brittlee Harper) clinched the first win of the day, taking their opponents to three sets that ended 21-23, 18-21, 15-5. Brooke Beresford and Samantha Washmuth took care of business in the No. 4 spot, sweeping Jacey Garriga and Abby Wright in two sets.
Mallory Turner and Railey Druxman handled their competition in two, winning the match for Park as the 1’s and 2’s both failed to overpower the Crusaders.
The Buccaneers have a week-long break until they hit the courts with an away match against Mesa Community College on Feb. 24.
