Of Note
ASU’s lightweights were locked in this weekend. The lightest four weight classes went a perfect 8-0 between Cal Poly Friday and Stanford today, and Kyle Parco recorded back-to-back bonus point victories (Pin vs. Cal Poly, MD vs. Stanford).
Richard Figueroa continues to make his name known to the world. He picked up his 14th consecutive victory with his 13-5 major over Nico Provo to move to 14-0 on the year.
Michael McGee is dominant. Like 25 career tech falls dominant. He’s 12-2 on the season, just picked up his second tech in three outings, and has eight total bonus point victories so far this season.
Cael Valencia has been tested in recent weeks but today was his fifth victory of the season and his second dual victory as a Sun Devil. He entered unranked and held No. 23 Eischens to zero takedowns in the match, Valencia winning on two takedowns, an escape, and his riding bonus.
Cohlton Schultz took some time away from ASU recently because he was with USA Wrestling getting some Greco-Roman training in. He returned to the lineup rejuvenated and picked up his sixth pin of the season and 22nd of his career, defeating Peter Ming in just 56 seconds.
