Meyer promoted to Interim Head Coach for Track and Cross Country

(Mesa, AZ)  Park University Gilbert Director of Athletics Jeff Fore has announced the promotion of Adam Meyer to the position of Interim Track and Field and Cross Country Head Coach as Bucs head coach Jeremy Winzer has resigned due to personal reasons which required his immediate attention.

“We are fortunate to have someone like Adam be available to take over the program,” said Fore. “It is unfortunate Jeremy had to resign as he did a fantastic job in his short time here. We will miss him and wish him nothing but the best.”

Meyer has been fully indoctrinated in the Buccaneers program since his arrival in June of 2022. He has mentored the cross country runners and helped them to set many personal bests this past fall.

Meyer came to Park after a highly successful stint running at Arizona State University.

Meyer graduated from ASU in 2021 with a degree in Sports Business. Meyer ran both cross country and distance track for the Sun Devils with PR’s of 1:49 in the 800, 3:51 in the 1500 and 25:20 in cross country in the 8K.

Meyer, an Arizona native, prepped at Mesa High School in Mesa, Ariz., where he ran track and played basketball. Meyer only ran one year of varsity track and field but was named team MVP and also earned all-east valley region in the 400, 800 and 4X400 meter events. His performances in this one season were also good enough to catch the eye of the coaching staff at ASU.

In basketball, he played two years on varsity and the Jackrabbits won the 2016 Division I state title in his junior year. Meyer also was among the top-20 students at the school in GPA. This combination of athletics and academics makes him an ideal fit as Bucs move into the spring season.
