Austin Nunez hit three clutch free throws with less than a second on the clock in regulation, sending the game to overtime. Desmond Cambridge Jr.’s 26 points were the most by any Sun Devil this season.
Arizona State is off to a 15-6 start, tied for the second best 21-game start under head coach Bobby Hurley and marks just the fifth time since 2005-06 ASU has 15 wins in its first 21 games.

Warren Washington has 23 total games in his career with multiple blocks and recorded his 11th game this season against Washington.
In fact, Washington has the third-most blocks in the Pac-12 with 44 and is the only player in the conference with a block in each game played. (Min. 5 GP).
Arizona State is the only team in the Pac-12 to force double digit turnovers in every conference game this season
In fact, the Sun Devils have forced double-digit turnovers in 13 consecutive conference games dating back to last season, the most in the Pac-12 in that span.
This is the 19th time in the last 21 games ASU has forced double-digit turnovers, and 46 of 52 dating back to the start of last season.
ASU has also scored more fast-break points than opponents in 15 out of 21 games and outscored the Huskies 8-4.
In fact, the Sun Devils have outscored their opponents on the run in 11 of the last 12 and are outscoring their opponents by a +70 margin on the run this season.
Additionally, Arizona State have outscored their league opponents on the run in nine of 10 possible games (except Washington, home).
ASU also outscored Washington 12-8 in bench points, the fourth straight game ASU has won the category.
Arizona State held Washington to 39% from the floor. Entering the contest, ASU has held their opponents to a 39.1% combined percentage from the floor since the start of last season, 10th best in the country over that timeframe.
The Huskies entered the contest fourth in the nation with six blocks per game, but only managed four despite having an overtime period.
Desmond Cambridge had 26 points, the most for any Sun Devil this season, his ASU high and fourth straight game with at least 15 points.
He scored seven of ASU’s first nine on the evening.
Frankie Collins tossed six dimes. He entered as one of just five Pac-12 players averaging at least 4.75 assists per game.
The Sun Devil defense forced 22 turnovers, the second time in a conference game this season forcing 20-or-more turnovers, (20, vs. Colorado, Dec. 1, 2022.) and the 7th time since 2020-21 forcing conference opponents to 20-or-more turnovers in a game. In fact, they had five in the first 3:36.
The 11 first half turnovers were the most forced by the ASU defense in league play this season. Washington’s 22 turnovers are their second-most in a game this season and tied for the most in a conference game.
Austin Nunez played the second most minutes of his career with 24. He recorded 25 on the road in Colorado, a game that Frankie Collins did not play in due to a non-COVID related illness.
The Sun Devils fall to 0-2 on the season in overtime.
KEY MOMENTS
Arizona State forced five turnovers, forced Washington to miss its first eight shots from the floor and were held scoreless in the first 5:41. The Sun Devils opened the game on a 12-0 run.
ASU opened the second half on a 7-2 advantage. Washington called timeout at 14:34 with Arizona State winning the second half, 13-6 and being held to 2-9 from the field.
The Sun Devils went on a 16-7 scoring stretch over 9:14 from 9:58 – :44, cutting their deficit to just one.
