Caitlyn Maher and Bri Gerhart named United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-Americans

(Tucson, AZ)  Pima Community College women’s soccer players Caitlyn Maher (Catalina Foothills HS) and Bri Gerhart (Tanque Verde HS) earned another accolade for not just their play on the field, but efforts towards their academics.

Maher, a sophomore midfielder/forward and Gerhart, a sophomore defender, were selected first team 2022 United Soccer Coaches Junior College Women’s Scholar All-Americans.

Maher was named to the United Soccer Coaches Junior College Division II Women’s All-American Team and to the Division II Women’s All-West Region Team. Maher was selected to the NJCAA Division II All-Tournament Team and was second team All-ACCAC and first team All-Region I, Division II. She played in all 18 games; making 15 starts with five goals and a team-high 11 assists. She played in 39 total games for her Pima career.

Gerhart was named to the United Soccer Coaches Division II Women’s All-West Region Team. She was selected second team NJCAA Division II All-American, first team All-ACCAC and first team All-Region I, Division II. She played and started all 18 games in the backfield helping Pima secure 12 shutout victories. Gerhart played a total of 47 games over the past three seasons for her Pima career.

Those considered to the United Soccer Coaches Junior College Scholar All-American teams must be a sophomore, who maintained a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) throughout their career, played in a minimum of 75 percent of all the team’s games and earned playing honors (i.e., all-conference).
