Eight Pima Baseball players sign NCAA Division I letters of intent

(Tucson, AZ)  Eight current Pima Community College baseball players signed their national letters of intent on Wednesday to continue their collegiate careers at the NCAA Division I level.

LHP Matthew Cornelius (St. Pius HS, NM) – New Mexico State University

LHP Alessandro Castro (Pusch Ridge Christian HS) – University of Arizona

C Hunter Faildo (Mililani HS, HI) – University of Hawai’i at Manoa

RHP Wyatt Hardy (Valor Christian HS, CO) – University of New Mexico

INF Gage Mestas (Durango HS, CO) – Gonzaga University

INF Braedon Mondeau (Cienega HS) – Brigham Young University

LHP Matt Romero (Sandia HS, NM) – New Mexico State University

LHP Jaeden Swanberg (Salpointe Catholic HS) – University of Arizona

“I’m very excited and proud of each of these individuals’ accomplishments,” Pima baseball coach Ken Jacome said. “All of these guys took a chance on a junior college in Tucson, Arizona as a first step. It has been a journey but the future is bright for each and I can’t wait to see them at the next level.”

The Aztecs baseball season opens on Friday, January 27 with a non-conference doubleheader at Paradise Valley Community College.
