Rattlers re-sign pair of Defensive Linemen

(PhoeniX, AZ)  The Arizona Rattlers re-signed a pair of defensive linemen in Chris Terrelland Theo Majette. The Rattlers initially signed the two linemen in the middle of the 2022 season (May 12) and their impact was felt down the stretch.

Chris Terrell will enter his second season with the Arizona Rattlers and in the IFL in 2022.

In 2022, Terrell appeared in 8 games during his first season in the desert after joining halfway through the season. In those eight contests, he recorded 22.5 tackles (10.5 for loss), 3 sacks, 3 pass breakups, 1 forced fumble, and 1 fumble recovery.

Terrell attended West Alabama from 2019-2021, where in his senior season he recorded 49 tackles – 41 of them solo – seven sacks, one forced fumble, and a blocked kick. He was named to the 2021 D2football.com Elite 100, received AFCA Division II Coaches All-American First Team Defense, was named to the All-Super Region Two Second Team, and was named as a Cliff Harris Award Finalist last Fall.

Prior to his time with the Tigers, Terrell played for Central Arkansas, where in 36 career games he recorded 130 tackles – 76 of them solo – 21 sacks, 46.5 tackles-for-loss and seven forced fumbles. In 2017, he was named All-Southland Conference First Team.

A native of Pensacola, Florida, Terrell attended J.M. Tate High School where in 2014 he was named the Defensive Player of the Year by the Pensacola News Journal. He was also selected as a Second Team All-State defensive lineman that year, while earning First Team All-Area in 2013 and 2014.

Theo Majette will enter his second year with the Arizona Rattlers in 2023 and in the IFL.

In his first season with the Rattlers, Majette appeared in 7 games after joining midway through the season. In those seven contests, he amassed 10 tackles (4.0 for loss) and tallied 3 sacks.

Before signing with the Rattlers last season, he was a member of the Massachusetts Pirates. Majette has CFL experience, as he was a member of the Calgary Stampede in 2020 during the team’s training camp.

A product of Kent State University, Majette was third-team All-MAC in 2019 as a senior, where he led the Golden Flashes in sacks with 5.5. He recorded 40 tackles and four quarterback hurries as well.

Majette attended West Bloomfield High School in West Bloomfield, Michigan where he was an All-Michigan First Team and Detroit Free Press All-State Dream Team honoree. The two-time all-conference selection also competed in track and field.
