Ernesto Osornio scores hat trick as Aztecs Men’s Soccer scores nine goals to down GateWay CC

(Tucson, AZ)  The Pima Community College men’s soccer team (4-0, 1-0 in ACCAC) opened ACCAC conference play on Saturday against GateWay Community College (0-4, 0-1) at the West Campus Aztec Field part of the Chapman Automotive Sports Complex.

The No. 1 ranked Aztecs earned their third shutout win of the season after beating the Geckos 9-0.

Sophomore Ernesto Osornio (Ironwood HS) had a hat trick as he scored three straight goals for the Aztecs. He put them up 4-0 in 41st minute with an assist from freshman Declan Mullane. Osornio got the Aztecs going to begin the second half as he netted his second goal in the 46th minute with an assist from sophomore Nicholas Bianchi (Pinnacle HS). He capped off the hat trick with a goal in the 51st minute with another assist from Bianchi to make it 6-0.

Bianchi didn’t waste any time putting the Aztecs ahead as he scored the first goal 24 seconds in with an assist from freshman Nicolas Nourry. Bianchi finished the game with three assists. Nourry found the back of the net in the 63rd minute with an assist from Mullane, who had two assists.

Mullane along with sophomore Brian Vu (Rincon HS), freshman Daniel Ehler (Marana HS) and Cristian Gutierrez (Cholla HS) all scored goals in the game.

The Aztecs finished with 16 shots on goals. Sophomore Aaron Quezada finished with five saves. Freshman Alex Rosas (Pusch Ridge Christian HS) came in the final 17 minutes and had no saves.

The Aztecs will play at South Mountain Community College on Tuesday in Phoenix. Game time is set for 10:00 a.m.
