(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College men’s soccer team (5-0, 2-0 in ACCAC) put together a dominating second half on Tuesday at South Mountain Community College (0-5, 0-2).
The No. 1 ranked Aztecs remained undefeated after beating the Cougars 5-1 in Phoenix.
The Aztecs produced five different goal scorers as sophomore Daniel Rendon (Tucson Magnet HS) put Pima on the board in the 49th minute with an assist from sophomore Brian Vu (Rincon HS). Vu scored his goal six minutes later with an assist from sophomore Nicholas Bianchi (Pinnacle HS) in the 55th minute.
Bianchi had his second assist of the game when he found sophomore Andres Gutierrez-Rembao (San Miguel HS) for his goal in the 57th minute to put the Aztecs up 3-0.
Sophomore Taichi Yamada netted Pima’s fourth goal in the 77th minute. Freshman Nicolas Nourry capped off the barrage with his goal in the 83rd minute that was assisted by Patricio Fernandez Oro (Mountain View HS).
The Cougars got on the board with a goal by Logan Mazaros in the 85th minute.
Freshman Aaron Quezada finished the game with three saves. Freshman Cristian Sattin played the final 20 minutes at the net and had no saves.
The Aztecs will return to the West Campus Aztec Field at the Chapman Automotive Sports Complex on Saturday when they face off against No. 3 ranked Phoenix College. Match is set for a 4:30 p.m. start time.
