(Tucson, AZ) The Barstool Sports Arizona Bowl continues to set the bar for bringing the best to Tucson. NFL record holder and Arizona Wildcat legend Rob Gronkowski has signed on to be the featured speaker for the 2022 Barstool Sports Arizona Bowl luncheon.
Gronkowski will be the recipient of the Dick Tomey Arizona Strong Award, given annually to an individual who has had a major impact on the Southern Arizona Community. The Kickoff Luncheon will be held October 27, 2022 at the Tucson Convention Center. Tickets are on sale now at www.azbowlkickoff.com.
Regarded as one of the greatest tight ends of all time, Gronk is a four-time Super Bowl champion (XLIX, LI, LIII, LV), a five-time Pro Bowl selection, a four-time First Team All-Pro selection, and was selected in the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team and NFL 100th Anniversary All-Time Team. Gronkowski played college football at the University of Arizona, winning several awards, including being named a Sporting News and Rivals.com Freshman All-American. Gronkowski has set several NFL records, including being the first player of his position to lead the league in receiving touchdowns and also has the most career postseason receiving yards by a tight end. Gronk has the most career postseason receiving touchdowns for his position, as well as the most combined receptions and receiving yards by a tight end in Super Bowl history.
In addition to the Dick Tomey Arizona Strong Award, the luncheon will also feature the Jon and Heather Volpe Tucson Strong Award. The 2022 recipient will be the Lopez Foundation, for their incredible work and generosity in Tucson. The Barstool Sports Arizona Bowl is entering its eighth Bowl season, and excited to continue its mission of giving back to the community. The Arizona Bowl gives 100% of its net proceeds to charity, giving back over $4.5 million since 2015.
