Simmons, Bonner, Pequeño return to Rattlers 2022 Broadcast Team

(Phoenix, AZ)  The Rattlers broadcast team returns a trio of familiar faces with their entire crew from last season returning for the 2022 season.

The six-time world champion Arizona Rattlers are thrilled to officially announce their broadcast team for the 2022 season. The Rattlers on-air team will feature long-time Arizona sportscaster Floyd Simmons as the play-by-play broadcaster, Rattlers Ring of Honor member and former quarterback, Sherdrick Bonner as the Color Commentator, and seven-time Emmy winning television broadcaster Joe Pequeno as the Sideline Reporter.

Play-by-play Broadcaster, Floyd Simmons joins the Rattlers for his second season with the organization, while he currently serves as the owner and CEO of Sports Zone Radio. Simmons also contributes to game broadcasts as a play-by-play voice for their coverage of high school sports in northern Arizona. Simmons’ Media Group/Sports Zone Radio will be the Rattlers’ official television production partner for the 2022 season.

Simmons will also be co-hosting the Rattlers’ Coaches Show with head coach Kevin Guy and an exciting rotation of guests throughout the season on StreamYard.

Sherdrick Bonner will return for his second season with the Arizona Rattlers as their Color Commentator. Bonner, of course is a Rattlers legend, as he was inducted to the Rattlers inaugural Ring of Honor Class of 2013. He spent 14 seasons with the Rattlers as their quarterback from 1993-1998, and 2000-2007. Sherdrick won the ArenaBowl VII MVP in 1994, the year the Rattlers won their first championship in franchise history. He is the team’s all-time leader in passing yardage (40,980) and touchdowns (865).

Prior to Bonner joining the Rattlers broadcast team, he spent 10 years providing color commentary for AT&T Sports Networks’ coverage of Big Sky and Mountain West Conference college football games in Denver, in addition to five years working as a Color Analyst for CBS Sports Network’s coverage of the Arena Football League from 2013-2018.

Sideline Reporter, Joe Pequeno will join the Rattlers for his second season with the organization. Prior to joining the Rattlers ahead of last season, he spent 14 years as a multimedia journalist, anchor and media relations coordinator for local television in the Phoenix market. Pequeno previously worked for KPNX NBC Channel 12 from 2005-2011, before joining KPHO Arizona Family Channels 3 and 5 from 2011-2019.

Since 2019, Pequeno has served as a play-by-play broadcaster and sideline reporter for Sports Zone Radio’s coverage of high school sports in northern Arizona.

Every Arizona Rattlers home game will be televised locally on YurView Arizona (formerly known as Cox 7) channel 4 as well as simulcast to the Rattlers’ radio flagship, 1580 AM The Fanatic.

All Rattlers 2022 regular-season games will be available to stream on the IFL’s YouTube channel for fans outside of the Arizona market. The Rattlers’ 2022 season will kick off on Saturday, March 19 against Duke City at the Footprint Center at 6:05 PM.
