Trammell scores 24, Dixon has double-double as Men’s Basketball trounces Ottawa JV

(Tucson, AZ)  The Pima Community College men’s basketball team (4-0) earned another lopsided victory in non-conference play at Wednesday at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium.

The No. 17 ranked Aztecs beat Ottawa University JV 144-64. This was the third straight game the Aztecs have scored 130 points or more. They are averaging 128 points in the first four games.

The Aztecs shot 69 percent from the field (64 for 93) for the game. Sophomore Quincey Trammell led the Aztecs with a game-high 24 points on 11 for 12 shooting. He also had six rebounds and four blocks.

Freshman Griffin Effenberger scored all 18 of his points in the second half as he went 7 for 10 from the field and 4 for 5 from three-point range. He also added four assists and three steals.

Freshman Itury Kitt (Eastpointe HS) finished with 15 points as he went 7 for 10 from the floor. Sophomore Daniel Moody (Walden Grove HS) scored 14 points and had eight rebounds while freshman Damon McDowell Jr. also posted 14 points.

Sophomore Chrishon Dixon had a double-double of 13 points and 11 assists to go along with five rebounds. Freshman Traivar Jackson had 12 points, six rebounds, four steals and two blocks.

The Aztecs return to the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium on Saturday when they host Arizona Christian University JV at 2:00 p.m.
