The Rattlers add Rowzee, Ziahand re-sign Huston

Arizona heads into 2022 with OL Steven Rowzee, DL Gibson Ziah and returning WR Isaiah Huston

(Phoenix, AZ)  Three more players with indoor football experience have been added to the Rattlers roster, as offensive lineman Steven Rowzee, defensive lineman Gibson Ziah and wide receiver Isaiah Huston will be coming on Arizona’s roster for 2022.

OL Steven Rowzee (6’3, 335, Troy University) will be joining the Rattlers for his first season in Arizona and third in the IFL. Rowzee spent the 2021 season with the Iowa Barnstormers, helping clear the way for an offense which ranked second in the league in passing (155.6 yards per game) and third in rushing (88 yards per game).

Rowzee is returning to Arizona after having been a part of the Rattlers’ 2019 team which went undefeated (14-0) during the regular season. He saw action in the 2019 United Bowl vs. Sioux Falls, accomplishing the feat of appearing in a league championship game as a rookie.

The lineman started his career at the College of DuPage, earning All-Region honors as a freshman, before attending Eastern Arizona for his sophomore season, where he was selected First Team All-Arizona, All-Conference, and All-Western State. Rowzee completed his college career at Troy University, where he started for two years and was part of an offensive line that allowed only eight sacks during his junior year.

DL Gibson Ziah (6’2, 230, Livingstone College) will join the Rattlers for his rookie season in the IFL in 2022. Ziah was named Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2021 while playing for the Omaha Beef of Champions Indoor Football (CIF). An excellent speed rusher, Ziah played in 12 games for Omaha, logging 11.5 sacks and helped secure a trip to the Beef to Champions Bowl VI, where they defeated the Salina Liberty, 40-39. Ziah had seven total tackles, .5 sacks, 1.5 tackles-for-loss and a forced fumble in the championship game.

Prior to, Ziah played at Division-III Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he earned All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference honors during each of his three seasons. Ziah was especially dominant as a junior, when he ranked second in the conference with 11 sacks and 18.5 TFLs. He then transferred to Livingstone College in Salisbury, North Carolina where he finished third on the Blue Bears in total tackles (49), first in TFLs (18.5) and first in sacks (9.5).

A native of Snellville, Georgia, Ziah attended South Gwinnett High School in Snellville and played three years, logging eight sacks and earning a Gwinnett County Player of the Week award as a senior.

WR Isaiah Huston (6’0, 185, Arizona Christian University) will be returning to the Rattlers for his second season in Arizona, and second overall. Huston made an impression on the Rattlers brass during an open tryout in February 2020, signing a contract shortly after. Due to the cancellation of the 2020 IFL season and a deep Rattlers receiving corps in 2021, Huston has only appeared in one game with Arizona during his tenure. He logged two receptions for 19 yards and a 6-yard rush in a 62-19 win over Northern Arizona on July 10 at Footprint Center.

A preseason NAIA All-American during his two years at Phoenix College, Huston later transferred to Arizona Christian University. Over two seasons, Huston played in 12 games for the Firestorm, starting three, while registering 44 receptions for 681 yards and eight touchdowns.

Huston is a native of Anthem, Arizona, and attended Boulder Creek High School, playing wide receiver and defensive back. He was an Arizona All-State Team Honorable Mention and All-Purpose Player by Scout.com and The Arizona Republic in 2012.
