McDowell Jr. scores 22 points as Aztecs men’s basketball improves to 5-0

(Tucson, AZ)  The Pima Community College men’s basketball team (5-0) scored in triple digits for the fifth straight game on Saturday as it took down Arizona Christian University JV.

The No. 17 ranked Aztecs defeated ACU JV 111-75 at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium.

Freshman Damon McDowell Jr. led the Aztecs with a team-high 22 points as six players scored in double figures. Sophomore Daniel Moody (Walden Grove HS) scored 19 points while sophomore Chrishon Dixon dropped 16 points.

Freshmen Cooper Burbank (Chinle HS) and Traivar Jackson each netted 11 points and freshman Pierce Sterling added 10 points.

The Aztecs begin ACCAC conference play on Wednesday as they host Arizona Western College at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
