(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College women’s basketball team (0-1) opened the 2021-22 season on Friday at the Eastern Arizona Classic.
The No. 13 ranked Aztecs fell to the Mexican National Team 67-60. The Aztecs were outscored 23-7 in the first quarter but outscored them in every other quarter.
Sophomore Angel Addleman (Palo Verde HS) led the Aztecs with 17 points to go along with five assists. Fellow sophomore Luisa Chavez (Rio Rico HS) added a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore Nikya Orange (Tanque Verde HS) posted eight points and 12 rebounds.
The Aztecs will play Southwestern Assemblies of God University to close out the Eastern Arizona Classic on Saturday. Game time is set for 11:00 a.m.
