Aztecs Men’s Basketball drops ACCAC opener to Arizona Western College Tucson, AZ –The Pima Community College men’s basketball tea

(Tucson, AZ)  The Pima Community College men’s basketball team (5-1, 0-1 in ACCAC) opened ACCAC conference play on Wednesday at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium.

The No. 10 ranked Aztecs fell to Arizona Western College 79-78. The Aztecs had averaged 124 points in their first five games.

Sophomore Daniel Moody (Walden Grove HS) posted a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds.

Freshman Pierce Sterling finished the game with 14 points, five rebounds and five assists while freshman Traivar Jackson added 12 points.

Freshman Itury Kitt (Eastpointe HS) contributed with 10 points, six assists and five rebounds. Sophomore Chrishon Dixon fell short of a double-double with nine points and 10 assists.

The Aztecs are back at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium on Saturday when they host Central Arizona College. Tipoff is set for 4:00 p.m.
