(Tempe, AZ) Sun Devil Cameron Sisk is one of three finalists for September’s Ben Hogan Golfer of the Month honor. Sisk, a native of San Diego, already earned Pac-12 Golfer of the Month after tallying a victory and a runner-up in two events in September.
A two-time all-American, Sisk won the Maridoe Invitational (70-66-73) Invitational with a tournament-best 5-under on the par-3 holes (2.58) and also led the field with 17 birdies. Just four days later, he went on to tie for second (71-69-68) along with teammate David Puig at the Fighting Illini Invitational.
Sisk is one of three golfers to be nominated for September honors for the Ben Hogan Award, joining North Carolina’s Ryan Gerard and Luke Kluver of Kansas.
Fifteen ballots are eligible to be cast which includes 12 members from the Hogan Trophy Award Foundation and three social media fan ballots. The votes are issued to the top vote getter on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, with voting open through Wednesday, Oct. 13 at 10 a.m. The winner of the prestigious award will be announced following the close of voting.
The Ben Hogan Award is given annually to the top men’s and women’s golfers in all collegiate and amateur play over the previous 12 months. The award has been given out since 1990.
