Acosta, Amparano, Vidal and Bassett named to All-ACCAC Teams

(Tucson, AZ)  The Arizona Community College Athletic Conference released its All-Conference teams on Monday and four Pima Community College women’s soccer players were selected.

Freshman Mari Acosta (Sahuarita HS), a midfielder/forward, was named first-team All-ACCAC. She played in all 16 games; making 15 starts. She led the Aztecs with 10 goals and 21 points.

Sophomore goalkeeper Angelina Amparano (Salpointe Catholic HS) was selected second team All-ACCAC. She played and started in all 16 games logging 1,395 minutes protecting the net. She finished with 90 saves (third in the ACCAC) and had a .865 saves percentage which led the conference. She gave up 14 goals and was second in the ACCAC with a 0.90 goals against average.

Sophomore Nayeli Vidal (Sahuaro HS), a midfielder/forward, was listed second team All-ACCAC. She played in all 16 games; making 14 starts. She scored three goals and had three assists as she finished with nine points.

Sophomore Kaitlyn Bassett (Sabino HS) was chosen second team All-ACCAC. She played in all 16 games and made eight starts. She scored five goals and had six assists. She finished with 16 points.

The No. 2 seeded Aztecs will play No. 3 Scottsdale Community College in the NJCAA Region I, Division II semifinals tonight at the West Campus Aztec Soccer Field part of the Chapman Automotive Sports Complex. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m.
