2021 Indoor Football League Awards Announced, Executive of the Year to Kevin Guy and Best Franchise of the Year to Arizona

(Phoenix, AZ)   Arizona Rattlers first-year team president Kevin Guy was named 2021 Indoor Football League Executive of the Year, the IFL announced on Monday.

Additionally, Arizona was awarded the Best Franchise of the Year for a fourth consecutive season.

With Arizona making its second straight United Bowl appearance, the Rattlers continue to stand as a shining example in the Indoor Football League.

Executive of the Year Award, Kevin Guy

After serving as Rattlers general manager for 12 years, Guy earned a promotion to team president in September 2020. He acts as both head coach and team president as he helped guide the franchise to its second straight trip to the United Bowl.

In Guy’s first season as team president, the organization reached new heights for corporate sales, merchandise sales, broadcast production, in-game entertainment, and with its social and digital media efforts.

Prior to Guy’s 11th United Bowl Championship appearance, he was named the 2021 IFL Coach of the Year. He is now the only individual in IFL history to garner the IFL Coach of the Year and Executive of the Year awards, let alone in the same season.

Franchise of the Year Award, Arizona

The six-time champion Arizona Rattlers are no stranger to success. Arizona led the IFL in fan attendance at the Footprint Center. The organization hosted games throughout the playoffs as the team continued to ignite the Rattlers fanbase. In 2021, Guy guided the Rattlers to multiple season awards — for players (MVP, Defensive Player of the Year), plus as a franchise.

The Rattlers were the first professional sports team to operate at 100 percent capacity in the newly named Footprint Center, and consistently filled the arena in a safe yet engaging manner. Fans enjoyed top notch in-game production, with state-of-the-art technology, interactive and unique entertainment, and the winningest franchise in the state of Arizona history on the field.

With these honors, Guy continuously credits his staff on and off the field.

“I have always viewed these types of awards as organizational awards,” Guy said. “I’m very proud of the staff on how hard they worked to come out of this pandemic and in order to put out a great product. The goal is to make sure our fans enjoyed the ultimate experience each and every game. We have the absolute best and most passionate fanbase in the league and it makes coming to work extremely easy when we can deliver to Rattler Nation, our corporate partners and the community.”
