(Phoenix, AZ) Grand Canyon University announced on Thursday that the university and softball head coach Ann Pierson have parted ways. An immediate national search is underway for the next head coach of the Lopes program.
“We would like to thank Coach Pierson for 18 years of service at GCU,” Vice President of Athletics Jamie Boggs said. “We wish Ann and her family the best moving forward.”
GCU’s 2021 season concluded last weekend with a 19-30 mark, including an 8-9 record in conference play. The Lopes fell in their first two games at the WAC Tournament.
Pierson was the program’s only head coach since its inception in 2004.
