Rattlers 2021 fields Staff to include two newcomers

(Phoenix, AZ)  The six-time world champion Arizona Rattlers have announced their full field staff for the 2021 Indoor Football League season.

The Rattlers’ 2021 field staff includes two new additions to the team: Quarterbacks and Running Backs Coach, Hurtis Chinn and Director of Physical Preparation, Hunter Charneski.

The staff also includes the following long-time returning members: Head Coach Kevin Guy, Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Line Coach Kani Kauahi, Defensive Line/Special Teams Coach Jeff Jarnigan, Wide Receivers/Offensive Quality Control Coach Rod Windsor, Head Athletic Trainer Stuart Nichols and Equipment Manager Todd Conner.

Quarterbacks / Running Backs Coach: Hurtis Chinn: 

Hurtis Chinn joins the Rattlers for his ninth season in the IFL and his first in Arizona. Chinn most recently spent time as the Tucson Sugar Skulls’ offensive coordinator in 2019, when the team ranked 4th in the league in scoring with 52 points per game.

In 2018, Chinn was a member of the IFL Champion Iowa Barnstormers, as the team’s assistant head coach and wide receivers coach.

Before joining Iowa, Chinn coached for six years with the Nebraska Danger, including as the head coach in his final season with the team. Under his guidance, the Danger appeared in three IFL Championship games over his six seasons with the team. Prior to beginning his coaching career, Chinn played five years in the IFL for the River City Rage and the Danger, after playing college football at Western New Mexico University.

Hunter Charneski, Director of Physical Preparation:

Hunter Charneski joins the Rattlers for his first season with the team. Prior to joining the Rattlers, Charneski received his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Grand Valley State University in 2013 and earned his Master’s degree in Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention from California University of Pennsylvania in 2015. Charneski went on to contribute to GVSU’s athletics department in a variety of sports performance capacities. He was the Men’s Basketball team’s Head Strength & Conditioning Coach during the 2016-2017 season, as well as the Gameday Nutritional Preparation Consultant for the school’s football team during the 2016 season. In November of 2019, Charneski was a consultant for the Los Angeles Rams on hamstring rehab protocol.

Charneski has spent each of his past two summers conditioning young athletes working towards careers in the military/special forces. From 2016 to 2019, he also operated his own private training facility in Michigan. Charneski is an author on the side from his career in physical preparation. He has written and published two books about sprinting.

Kevin Guy, Head Coach:

Kevin Guy will be entering his 20th season coaching indoor football and his 12th as head coach of the Rattlers. Guy has coached the Rattlers to four world championships, including three in-a-row from 2012-2014. He brings a career head coaching record of 211-70 (.751).

Kani Kauahi, Assistant Head Coach / Offensive Line:

Kani Kauahi will be entering his 12th season with the Rattlers, having played a pivotal role in each of the teams’ last four world titles.

Jeff Jarnigan, Special Teams / Defensive Line Coach:

Jeff Jarnigan will be entering his fifth season with the Rattlers, after joining the team in 2016 and helping them to their most recent United Bowl championship in 2017.

Rod Windsor, Wide Receivers Coach / Offensive Quality Control:

Rod Windsor will be entering his second season as the Wide Receivers coach for the Arizona Rattlers, after having played seven seasons for the team and playing a key role in two world championships.

Stuart Nichols, Head Athletic Trainer:

Stuart Nichols will be entering his third season as the Rattlers’ Head Athletic Trainer, as well as his 32nd total year as an athletic trainer and his 22nd year working in professional sports.

Todd Conner, Equipment Manager:

Todd Conner will be entering his 10th season with the Rattlers and his seventh as the equipment manager, having been a part of four championships with the team.
