(Tucson, AZ) The Tucson Sugar Skulls have signed defensive lineman BJ Butler, a four-year veteran of the Indoor Football League who spent the last three years with the Iowa Barnstormers.
Butler, 6-foot-4 and 300 pounds, has 119 career tackles, 28.5 tackles for loss and 17 passes broken up. He intercepted three passes as a rookie with the Billings Wolves in 2016.
He had a pair of tackles and broke up a pass when Iowa defeated the Sugar Skulls, 61-58, in Tucson last season.
Butler played four years at the University of Louisville where he became a starter on the defensive line as a true freshman. He also played tight end and fullback for the Cardinals. He is from Kissimmee, Fla., and played quarterback at Osceola High School.
