Sugar Skulls add two more players

(TUCSON, AZ)  The Tucson Sugar Skulls have signed two more players for the 2020 season – Texas Tech running back TreQuan King, and offensive lineman Adolphus Barnes from Eastern Illinois University.

The new signees are:

TreQuan King, 5’11, 190 pounds, running back. Played two seasons at Hutchinson Community College in Hutchinson, Kansas, and became the primary running back his sophomore season. In 2017, he was one of Texas Tech’s top rushing options, appearing in all 13 games. He finished his career at Texas Tech with 783 rushing yards and six touchdowns.

Adolphus Barnes, 6’4, 285 pounds, offensive line. Has played on the line on both sides of the ball. In 2014, Barnes started all 12 games at offensive left tackle and helped block for the nation’s 13th-ranked team in total offense and 11th-ranked rushing offense.

These additions now put the Sugar Skulls at 15 players on the roster. The team will carry 40 into training camp, and trim down to 25 before the start of the season.

The Sugar Skulls will play seven regular-season home games at the Tucson Arena beginning in March with the regular season running through June. The IFL playoffs will begin in early July. The 2020 IFL schedule is expected to be released later.
