Women’s Hoops Hosts Pacific in Second Round of WNIT

(TUCSON, AZ)  After winning their first postseason game in 14 years, Arizona (19-13) will host the Pacific Tigers (19-12) on Sunday, March 24 at 3 p.m. MST in the Second Round of the WNIT. Sunday’s game will be live streamed on Arizona Wildcats.com.

Arizona won their first postseason game in 14 seasons on Thursday and will host Pacific in the Second Round of the WNIT on Sunday.

Arizona hasn’t hosted multiple postseason games since the 1998 NCAA Tournament.

Arizona is the only team representing the Pac-12 in the WNIT.

The Wildcats, led by sophomore Adia Barnes, won the 1996 WNIT.

Aari McDonald owns the Arizona single-season scoring record and is currently sixth on the Pac-12 single-season scoring list. She joins Kelsey Plum as the only two players in conference history to have 750 points and 130 assists in one season and is 11 points away from becoming the fourth player in conference history with 800 points in one season.

Cate Reese became the first Arizona freshman to score 20 points in a postseason game and is also the first freshman since Shawntinice Polk to have a double-double in her first career postseason game.

Arizona has won 19 games for the first time since the 2010-11 season when the Cats won 21 games.
