Goldin and Salisbury tie for ninth place as Aztecs men’s golf takes fourth at Scottsdale Invitational

(Tucson, AZ)  The Pima Community College men’s golf team closed out its fourth tournament of the season on Tuesday at the Scottsdale Invitational held at the Hillcrest Golf Course in Sun City.

The Aztecs took fourth place for the second straight tournament as they finished with a team-score of 585. They were one-stroke back from Paradise Valley Community College (584) for third place and five-strokes behind Mesa Community College, who took second.

Freshman Curtis Goldin (McClintock HS) shot a four-under par 68 in the second round and finished tied for ninth place with a 144 (76-68). Fellow freshman Samuel Salisbury (Walden Grove HS) shot even-par for both rounds as he also tied for ninth place with a 144 (72-72).

Freshman Dylan Mattson (Cienega HS) shot a one-over par 73 in his second round as he tied for 14th place in the individual standings with a 147 (74-73). Freshman Matthew Fimbres (Cienega HS) finished in 26th place with a 152 (75-77).

The Aztecs will play at the South Mountain Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, Apr. 8-9 at the Legacy Golf Club in Phoenix.
