(Tucson, AZ)  The Pima Community College football team is going bowling for the second time in program history.

The No. 20 ranked Aztecs will head to the C.H.A.M.P.S Heart of Texas Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 1 to play No. 4 Kilgore College (9-2) at the Waco ISD Stadium in Waco, TX.

The Aztecs, then referred to as the Pima Storm, beat Kilgore College 10-7 in the Pilgrim’s Pride Bowl Classic on Dec. 4, 2004 in Mt. Pleasant, TX.

“We are incredibly excited and blessed to be invited to the C.H.A.M.P.S Heart of Texas Bowl and really excited to play Kilgore again. We’re not excited they’re the No. 4 team in the country,” Pima coach Jim Monaco said with a laugh.

The Aztecs closed out the regular season at 6-3 overall and 4-2 in WSFL conference play. After dropping their first game of the season, the Aztecs rallied off six straight wins. They closed it out with two straight losses.
