Tucson, AZ – The Pima Community College men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in the ACCAC Championships on Wednesday at the Glen Lakes Golf Course in Glendale.
Sophomore Katherine Bruno (Canyon del Oro HS) repeated as ACCAC conference champion as she finished the 5K (3.1 mile) race with a personal-best time of 18 minutes, 12.80 seconds. Freshman Mary Siml took seventh place with a time of 20:00.2. Bruno and Siml earned first team All-ACCAC.
Sophomores Kaylen Fox (Sahuaro HS) and Cindy Corrales (Nogales HS) earned third team All-ACCAC honors. Fox was 15th at 20:41.6 and Corrales took 17th place at 20:47.5.
In the men’s 8K (4.97 miles) race, freshmen Luis Tarazon (Desert View HS) and Jeffrey Klopf took home third team All-ACCAC honors. Tarazon was 15th with a time of 26:55.5 and Klopf finished 18th at 27:21.7.
Both teams took fourth place in the final team standings.
The Aztecs will compete at the Mesa CC Thunderbird Classic on Saturday, Oct. 6. The men’s race will be at 8:30 a.m. and the women’s race will follow at 9:05 a.m.
