(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College women’s soccer team (1-2) took the first lead of the game early in the second half but could not hold its defensive stance in the end on Tuesday against Paradise Valley Community College (3-0).
The Aztecs fell 2-1 to the Pumas after Karina Lopez-Martinez scored in the 87th minute to put the Pumas ahead for good.
After a scoreless first half, the Aztecs got on the board when sophomore Paola Ruedaflores (Nogales HS) got one passed the goalkeeper with the assist from freshman Sabrina Zepp (Tucson HS) in the 52nd minute. The Pumas tied the game six minutes later.
The Aztecs had five shots on goal for the game and sophomore goalkeeper Mackenzie Bernal (Tanque Verde HS) finished with four saves.
The Aztecs will play at Glendale Community College on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
