Cougars look to get the bad taste out of their mouth from ast week’s loss

(Tucson, AZ)  Head Coach Scott McKee went into this week’s practice with a message to his players. “Keep your body’s nutrition up, get your head screwed on straight and lay off the social media wars.”

All this came about in the aftermath of last Saturday’s one point loss to Buena in a game that Sahuaro in their minds should have won.

This Friday, August 31st in the 520 Spotlight Game of the Week, the battle of the eastside will take place at Sabino High School. Bragging right for an entire year are at stake.

Although thus rivalry dates back to the 70’s, it’s a non conference games with Sabino being in the 3A South and Sahuaro in the 4A Kino divisions.

Both teams are coming off bitter defeats in games they committed multiple errors, but games they feel they should have won.

In most years, this has been a tightly contested affair with The Sabercats wining last year.

The Cougars are big up front and moved prople off the line with little problems in their first game. They’ll look to return to that form on Friday night.

Both Schools have plenty of firepower on the outside, so this contest may come down to which team makes the least amount of errors.

Watch the 520 Sports Talk Facebook Page for the Frog & Firkin Pre-Game Show at 6:45 pm and the Jim Miller State Farm Halftime Show for a complete rundown of the first half and what to expect in the second half. The Post-Game Show will follow at the end of the ga,e where the Player of the Game award will be announced.
