Aztecs men’s golf complete first two rounds at NJCAA National Championship

Tucson, AZ – The Pima Community College men’s golf team is competing at the NJCAA Division I National Championship at the Rawls Golf Course in Lubbock, TX.

After the first two rounds of play, the Aztecs are 19th out of 21 teams in the team standings with a score of 617 (304-313).

Sophomore Cooper Cordova (Mountain View HS) shot a 1-over par 73 on Tuesday but finished with a 6-over par 78 in Wednesday’s round. He is tied for 57th place with a total of 151. He is 10-strokes back from being in the top 10 in the individual standings.

Sophomore Johnny Fiore (Marana HS) shot a 4-over par 76 on Monday and has a two-day total of 154 (76-78). Fellow sophomore Bobby Padilla (Catalina Foothills HS) sits with a 156 (77-79).

Freshman Trevor Gregoire (Canyon del Oro HS) finished his two rounds with a 158 (80-78) and fellow freshman Diego Cueva-Schraidt (Sabino HS) shot a 159 (78-81).

The Aztecs continue play at the NJCAA Division I National Championship on Thursday at the Rawls Golf Course.
