Esquivel takes fourth place as Aztecs women’s golf place fourth at Scottsdale Invitational

Tucson, AZ – The Pima Community College women’s golf team took fourth place in the final team standings for the second straight tournament on Tuesday.

The Aztecs closed out play at the Hillcrest Golf Course in Sun City with a two-day score of 739 (361-378). Mesa Community College finished in first place with 646 (320-326) while Chandler-Gilbert Community College placed second with 698 (352-346). South Mountain Community College took third place with 724 (368-356).

Sophomore Araceli Esquivel (Salpointe Catholic HS) finished in fourth place in the individual standings for the second straight tournament. She shot 9-over par each day to finish with a total of 162 (81-81).
Freshman Julianne Gonzalez (Ironwood Ridge HS) finished in 13th place with a 184 (87-97) while freshman Elizabeth Satterfield (Ironwood Ridge HS) placed 15th after she shot a 191 (94-97).

Sophomore Juliana Perez (Tucson HS) was tied for 17th with a score of 205 (99-106).

The Aztecs will compete in the Estrella Mountain Invitational on Feb. 26-27 at the Tres Rios Golf Course in Goodyear, AZ. Teams will begin to tee off at 8:00 a.m.
