Marana air game dismantles CDO

Sean Scott – Tucson, AZ

If you could stay awake for the first quarter of the Tigers/Dorados game, you’d never expect the air assault that was about to occur.

The first quarter was all on the ground for both teams and no real momentum was created.  No scoring took place either.  0-0 after one quarter.

Marana struck first as Zach Robert laid the ground work with huge runs and  Trenton Bourguet hit Teon Simmons for a touchdown.

Zach Roberts intercepted the Dorados on the following possession.  Runs by Diego Miranda and Jesus Hernandez put the tigers up 14-0 early in the 2nd quarter.

Diego Miranda stays in the spotlight on the very next possession when he caused a second straight interception.

Another airstrike from Bourguet, this time to Tariq Jordan, puts the Tigers up 21-0.

A flurry of penalties and two more scores sends the game into halftime at 28 to 6 with the Tigers holding the advantage.

The second half started with a fumble by the Dorados.  After the tigers recover, Teon Simmons gets his second score of the game.

The only bright spot for the Dorados was Elijah Carey who had over 100 yards and a score.

Bourget connected with the Simmons/Jordan combo 5 times for touchdowns and the Tigers won 55-20.
