(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College men’s soccer team (12-3-1, 8-2 in ACCAC) closed out the regular season with a statement victory on Wednesday at Kino North Stadium.
The No. 13 ranked Aztecs scored two second goals to beat Arizona Western College 2-0.
Sophomore Alec Nguyen (Sahuaro HS) put the Aztecs on the scoreboard with his goal in the 67th minute.
The Aztecs tacked on a second goal when freshman Seung Eon Kim scored with an assist from Hyeonsang Jang in the 75th minute.
The Aztecs held the Matadors (11-5-2, 6-3-1) to two shots on goal for the game. Sophomore Nils Roth finished the match with two saves.
The Aztecs will be the No. 3 seed for the NJCAA Region I, Division I Tournament. They will host No. 6 seed Mesa Community College on Monday at Kino North Stadium in the Region I Quarterfinal match. Kickoff will be at 6:00 p.m.
