(TUCSON, AZ). The Tucson Sugar Skulls have signed three more players and completed a trade for a fourth player bringing the 2020 roster to 20 players signed.
The Sugar Skulls traded the rights to offensive lineman Zachary Fondal to the Iowa Barnstormers for 5’10, 180-pound defensive back Tevin Madison who played at Texas Tech University. Fondal was acquired by the Sugar Skulls in a trade in 2019 but did not appear in any games.
Madison played in 14 games for the Barnstormers last year and recorded 54 tackles, 41 of those unassisted, and three interceptions.
The new signees are:
Ryan Wood, 6’1, 200 pounds, defensive back. Wood had 79 tackles, three for loss and two forced fumbles in his senior year at Chadron State College, an NCAA Division II team in Chadron Nebraska. He was a four-year starter and was all-conference and freshman of the year in 2014. He also was honorable mention all-conference in 2015.
Khalil Young, 6’5, 240 pounds, defensive line. Young played three seasons at Mississippi Valley State. Finished his career at MVSU with 161 total tackles, 30 tackles for loss and nine sacks. He led the team in sacks, tackles and tackles for loss in 2016.
Brandon Bailey, 6’1, 185 pounds, defensive back. Bailey played three seasons for Savannah State University in Savannah, Georgia. He was invited to the Atlanta Falcons rookie minicamp in 2017, and played for the Bismarck Bucks in 2019.

The Sugar Skulls will play seven regular-season home games at the Tucson Arena beginning in March with the regular season running through June. The IFL playoffs will begin in early July. The 2020 IFL schedule is expected to be released later this month.
Season tickets for the 2020 season are currently on sale to the general public with reduced prices from the 2019 season in several sections of the arena.
