(Chandler, AZ) The Pima Community College women’s soccer team (9-4, 6-1 in ACCAC) had its seven-game winning streak snapped on Saturday at Chandler-Gilbert Community College (11-3, 6-2).
The No. 19 ranked Aztecs fell to the Coyotes 2-1 suffering their first defeat in ACCAC conference play. It was also Pima’s first loss on the road as they came into the contest with a 5-0 record in road games.
Down 1-0, the Aztecs tied the game with 8:13 left in the first half when freshman Savannah Samorano (Tucson HS) scored a goal with an assist from fellow freshman Emma Franzone (Sahuarita HS).
The Coyotes took the lead for good when Elena Etchamendy scored her goal in the 73rdminute.
Sophomore goalkeeper Jorie Paul (Cienega HS) finished the game with nine saves.
The Aztecs will return to Kino North Stadium on Thursday when they play Scottsdale Community College. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. The Aztecs have three regular season games remaining.
