Tucson, AZ –Pima Community College women’s soccer players Alexis Hernandez (Ironwood Ridge HS) and Emily Bliven (Sahuarita HS) received praise from the United Soccer Coaches.
The sophomores were named to the 2017 United Soccer Coaches Junior College Division I Women’s All-West Region Team.
Hernandez, a forward, broke the Pima record for most goals in a season with 25 goals. She played and started in all 21 games. Hernandez was named first team All-ACCAC/Region I.
Bliven, a defender, anchored a defense that produced 10 shutouts (nine were victories). She played and started in 18 games. Bliven was selected first team All-ACCAC/Region I.
The Aztecs finished the season at 15-5-1 overall and fell in overtime 4-3 to Arizona Western College in the Region I, Division I semifinals.
