Tucson, AZ – The Pima Community College volleyball team (7-14, 4-7 in ACCAC) suffered a tough road loss on Friday at Chandler-Gilbert Community College.
The Aztecs took leads after the first and third sets but couldn’t close out the Coyotes (4-16, 1-10) in their five-set tie-breaking loss 11-25, 25-22, 18-25, 25-17, 15-7.
Sophomore Victoria Davis (Sahuaro HS) led the way with 15 kills and 24 digs. Freshman Lyrica Tavesi (Pima HS) finished the match with 14 kills and two blocks. Freshman Kaitlin Schmich (Mountain View HS) had 13 kills and 15 digs while sophomore Kayli Riesgo (Cienega HS) finished with 53 assists and 16 digs.
Sophomore Jamie Ricksecker (Pusch Ridge Christian HS) contributed with six kills and six blocks and sophomore Anissa Conrad (Sahuaro HS) posted 30 digs and three aces.
The Aztecs split the regular season head-to-head meetings with the Coyotes as they won 3-1 last month at the West Campus.
The Aztecs close out the regular season with four straight matches at the West Campus. They’ll host Eastern Arizona College on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
