(CORVALLIS, OR) Number 10 Oregon State (15-2, 5-0 Pac-12) made 11 three-pointers, eight coming from Destiny Slocum and Taya Corosdale, and knocked off the Arizona Wildcats (13-4, 3-3 Pac-12) by a score of 86-64 on Friday night.
Aari McDonald had her 15th 20-point game of the season as she scored 20 points, grabbed five rebounds and dished out four assists. Cate Reese got back to her old scoring ways as she had 18 points on 8-12 shooting and added in five rebounds. Sam Thomas also got into double-figures with 11 points.
The Beavers shot 54% from the field and 48% from three en route to their 15th win of the season. Slocum scored 19 of her 24 points in the second half and Mikayla Pivec had a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Oregon State started the game off on an 11-2 run, but the Wildcats responded with six-straight and would go to the second quarter down just one after McDonald hit a buzzer-beating three-pointer off the glass.
The Wildcats took the lead halfway through the second quarter, but Oregon State would finish the half on a 13-2 run and took a 37-28 lead into the locker room.
The two teams combined to shoot 67% from the field and Arizona made their final six shots of the quarter, but Oregon State was able to keep pace took a 60-49 lead into the fourth quarter.
Slocum made three three-pointers to start the fourth quarter and the Beavers closed out the game running away.
The Wildcats will head south to face No. 5 Oregon on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. MST on the Pac-12 Networks.
