Tucson, AZ – The Pima Community College women’s soccer team (5-2-1) went on an offensive scoring barrage on Tuesday against Glendale Community College on Saturday at Pioneer Park in Peoria.
The Aztecs scored 10 goals in the first half and went on to dismantle the Gauchos (0-7) 14-1.
Sophomore Alexis Hernandez (Ironwood Ridge HS) scored five goals while fellow sophomore Jahmonique Smith (Cienega HS) netted four goals. Freshmen Taylor Reinhart and Paola Rueda-Flores (Nogales HS) each scored two goals. Rueda-Flores also had two assists.
Freshman goalkeeper McKenzie Bernal (Tanque Verde HS) played the first half and finished with two saves. Freshman Perla Blanco (Sunnyside HS) played the second half and had four saves.
The Aztecs are off until next Tuesday, Sept. 19 when they return to the Kino Sports Complex. They’ll host Mesa Community College at 4:30 p.m.
