(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College men’s basketball team was represented for the fifth straight year as the NJCAA released its Division II All-Americans on Wednesday.
Freshman Isaiah Hill (Premier Prep Academy) was named First Team NJCAA Division II All-American. Sophomore Isaac Johnson (Oakland HS, CA) was selected to the Honorable Mention Team.
Hill, a freshman guard, averaged 15.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 3.4 steals while shooting 56.7 percent from the field, 50.4 percent from three-point range and 78.7 percent from the free throw line.
Hill scored double figures in 27 of the 34 games played with four double doubles and one triple double. His season-high was 31 points against South Mountain Community College on Dec. 10.
He was named the Jack Cistriano Best Small Man Award recipient at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament. Hill was selected the ACCAC Division II Player, Freshman of the Year and First Team All-ACCAC/Region I.
Johnson, a sophomore guard/forward, played and started in all 36 games this season averaging 16.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.9 steals and 1.1 blocks per game. He shot 71.8 percent from the field and scored double figures in 31 of the 36 games he played. He scored a season-high 42 points on Nov. 7.
Johnson is one of four sophomores from last year’s team that finished their Pima career with a 70-2 record. He played in 71 games, averaging 12.0 points (850 total), shooting 69.3 percent from the field, 5.3 rebounds (374 total), 1.5 assists (108 total) and 1.4 steals (102 total) per game. He also totaled 66 blocks.
Coach Brian Peabody has coached 12 NJCAA All-Americans in his Pima career.
Hill and Johnson are the 14th and 15th Pima Men’s Basketball NJCAA All-Americans. They join Cojenj Gonzales (2025), Gabe Oldham (2025), Dillan Baker (2024), Traivar Jackson (2022, 2023), Jake Lieppert (2020), Abram Carrasco (2019), Keven Biggs (2018), Deion James (2017), Murphy Gershman (2015), Darrell King (1991), James Ford (1990) and Greg Cook (1980).
