(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College women’s basketball accolades continue to pile up as the NJCAA released its Division II All-American teams on Wednesday.
Sophomores Kilee Sours-Miller (Dream City) and Melicia Nelson (Window Rock HS) were named First Team NJCAA Division II All-Americans.
Sours-Miller became the fifth Pima Women’s Basketball player to become a two-time NJCAA Division II All-American as she averaged 19.1 points, 9.1 rebounds and 1.8 blocks. She played and started in all 34 games this season and posted 15 double doubles in points and rebounds.
She scored 1,267 points for her Pima career finishing second on the all-time list only behind JJ Nakai (1,397). Sours-Miller played 68 games; making 64 starts. She averaged 18.6 points, 9.9 rebounds (674 rebounds) and shot 59.7 percent from the field for her career. She also totaled 32 double doubles in points and rebounds and scored in double figures in 67 of the 68 games played. She also earned ACCAC Division II Player of the Week 10 times in her career.
Sours-Miller is a two-time NJCAA Division II All-Tournament player, two-time ACCAC Division II Player of the Year, two-time First Team All-ACCAC, ACCAC Division II Freshman of the Year.
Nelson was named the NJCAA Division II National Tournament’s Most Valuable Player, NJCAA Division II All-Tournament Team, the Region I, Division II Championship Game’s MVP and First Team All-ACCAC/Region I.
She played and started in 33 games averaging 11.1 points, 7.7 rebounds, 8.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game. She posted eight double-doubles and four triple-doubles this season.
Nelson played in 66 games averaging 8.5 points (563 total points), 7.4 rebounds (490 rebounds), 7.2 assists (473 assists) and 2.4 steals (159 steals).
Sours-Miller and Nelson are the 21st and 22nd NJCAA All-Americans to come out of the program joining: Latrina Bennett (1994), Jessie Ingraham (2008), Tia Morrison (2009, 2010), Abyee Maracigan (2009, 2010), Deanna Daniels (2011), A’jha Edwards (2013), Raja Moreno-Ross (2014), Sydni Stallworth (2016, 2017), Jacqulynn Nakai (2018, 2019), Shauna Bribiescas (2019), Hallie Lawson (2020), Sierra Mich’l (2021), Fama Thiam (2021) and Luisayde Chavez (2023) and Rylei Waugh (2024), Kilee Sours-Miller (2025).
In 19 seasons at the helm, women’s basketball coach Todd Holthaus has produced an NJCAA All-American in 16 of those seasons. The Aztecs have an NJCAA All-American in nine of the last 10 years.
