(Mesa, AZ) The Pima Community College women’s track & field team competed at the inaugural Carvel Jackson Memorial Track & Field Showcase on Saturday at Mesa Community College.
Freshman Kathleen Farley (Perry HS) earned an NJCAA qualifying mark in the High Jump. She took second place with a mark of 1.58 meters (5-feet, 2.25-inches) as she cleared the bar on her first attempt.
Sophomore Sofia Cambridge (Page HS) improved on her national qualifying time in the 800-meter race as she took fifth place with a time of 2 minutes, 17.27 seconds. Her time put her fourth on the Pima Outdoor all-time list.
The men’s and women’s track & field teams have a combined 22 athletes who have earned NJCAA national qualifying marks and times in two meets during the Outdoor Season.
The Aztecs will compete in the ACCAC Conference Meet on Friday at Mesa Community College.
