(Tucson, AZ). The Pima Community College men’s basketball program was featured as the All-ACCAC Conference awards were released.
Freshman point guard Isaiah Hill (Premier Prep Academy) was named ACCAC Division II Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year and First Team All-ACCAC. This is the second straight year a Pima player has been selected ACCAC Division II Player of the Year (Cohenj Gonzales 2024-25) and the third straight year for Freshman of the Year honor (Cohenj Gonzales 2023-24, Mason Hunt 2024-25).
Hill averaged 15.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 3.5 steals as he played and started in 28 games during the regular season. He also shot 58.6 percent from the field, 52.5 percent from three-point range (second in the NJCAA) and 78.8 percent from the free throw line.
Sophomore Isaac Johnson (Oakland HS, CA) was named the ACCAC Division II Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-ACCAC.
Johnson, a sophomore guard/forward, played and started all 30 games during the regular season, averaging 17.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.1 blocks per game. He is third in the NJCAA with a 71.8 field goal percentage.
Men’s Basketball head coach Brian Peabody was named the ACCAC Division II Coach of the Year for the second straight season after leading the Aztecs to their second straight 30-0 regular season. His teams are 60-0 overall and 36-0 in ACCAC conference play in the last two regular seasons. He is currently 297-133 in 14 seasons at the helm.
Sophomore forward Mason Hunt (Bradshaw Mountain HS) became a two-time All-ACCAC conference player as he was selected to the First Team. Hunt was tabbed Freshman of the Year last season and Third Team All-ACCAC.
He played and started in 27 games during the regular season averaging 16.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.8 steals while shooting 48.1 percent from the field.
Sophomore center Brock Mendoza (Layton HS, UT) was named All-ACCAC Honorable Mention.
Mendoza played in all 30 games; making 26 starts during the regular season as he averaged 12.9 points, 9.2 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game. He also shot 68.1 percent from the field and 71.3 percent from the free throw line.
The No. 1 seeded Aztecs claimed the ACCAC Conference regular season title for the second straight year. They will host No. 4 Glendale Community College in the Region I, Division II Semifinals on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
