Isaiah Hill posts double-double, Will Feagles scores 17 in second half as Men’s Basketball tops Glendale CC

(Tucson, AZ)  The Pima Community College men’s basketball team (29-0, 17-0 in ACCAC) claimed its 29th straight victory on Saturday as it hosted Glendale Community College (17-10, 8-8) at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium.

The No. 4 ranked Aztecs used a pair of second half runs to beat the Gauchos 103-81 securing the three-game sweep over Glendale for the regular season.

The Aztecs led 63-62 with 11:25 left in the second half as the Gauchos scored five straight points to cut it, but freshman Will Feagles (Notre Dame Prep) found his range hitting three-pointers on two straight possessions. It triggered a 12-0 run to make it 73-62. He hit his third 3-pointer of the second half to make it 78-64.

The Gauchos hit a three-pointer to make it 85-73, but the Aztecs’ offense proved to be tough to contain as they used a 14-2 run to take their biggest lead of the game at 99-75 (24 points) with 2:57 left. The Aztecs outscored the Gauchos 58-45 in the second half.

The Aztecs went up by double digits at 30-17 but Glendale used a 16-4 run to cut it to a one-point game at 34-33. Freshman Gerron Graham (Premier Prep Academy) scored the next points for Pima. He also scored the final five Pima points to give them a 45-36 advantage at the break.

Sophomore Isaac Johnson led the way with a team-high 22 points on 9-for-12 shooting to go with seven rebounds and two assists.

Freshman Isaiah Hill (Premier Prep Academy) posted a double-double of 20 points and 13 assists, along with four rebounds.

Feagles scored all 17 of his points in the second half. He finished 5-for-13 for the game (5-for-8 from downtown for the second half).

Sophomore Brock Mendoza shot 7-for-8 from the field finishing with 16 points and five rebounds.

Graham flirted with a triple-double as he finished with 11 points, nine assists and seven rebounds.

The Aztecs will close out the regular season on Wednesday when they host Mesa Community College. Tip-off is at 4:00 p.m.
