Isaac Johnson’s difference-making game earns ACCAC Division II Player of the Week

(Tucson, AZ)  Pima Community College men’s basketball player Isaac Johnson (Oakland HS, CA) produced a standout performance that caught the eye of the ACCAC.

Johnson, a sophomore guard/forward, was named ACCAC Division II Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 18-24. This is his second selection as he took home the honor for the week of Nov. 2-8.

Johnson averaged 14.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 blocks as the Aztecs beat Chandler-Gilbert Community College and South Mountain Community College. He posted 23 points and 13 rebounds while going 10-for-11 from the field in their 51-50 win over the Cougars. Johnson shot 68 percent (13-for-19) from the field for the week.

He has played and started in all 22 games averaging 18.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.1 steals and 1.3 blocks.

The Aztecs are back on the road this Saturday as they play at Mesa Community College. Tip-off is set for 4:00 p.m.
